Hello dear Backers,
We are getting closer and closer to the production. And although the processes are becoming more complicated and dependable from different companies, our team successfully handles all the challenges and are super committed to deliver you exceptional product.
We wanted to share with you our routines and activities for last 2.5 weeks:
● Parts have been verified with suppliers for the future life cycle and availability.
● According to that, components for the first test version were ordered at Digi-Key.
● The PCBs package files were sent for production and main ones are already assembled.
● The majority of the components arrived to the Hong Kong company which will assemble the PCBs.
● The delivery was set up with Digi-Key as we’ve passed the procedure of verification of the ordering company and final destination usage purposes for the components we use, due to regulations for wireless technologies.
● The main boards are already produced, assembled, passed QC/QA and on their way with the fastest forwarding option, thanks to Lucidtron, company that will bring us to production and assists on our R&D processes.
● Next stage is to freeze the modeling after we have testings done with those boards.
● We are also now finalizing the lens parameters choosing according to best angles we can get at minimum “fish eye” effect.

Hello to all of our great Backers.
We are glad to give You an update.
Our initial electrical design based on several SoMs is ready now.
We have to consider several systems as it is crazy situation with supply on the market, so we do parallel design to avoid those risks. So now we need to wait for PCB production, parts assembling and delivery to test it with our software, all is estimated within April.
As for mechanical engineering, we are very close to have all the necessary documents ready for pre-production. We are arranging now the delivery of the material examples. The changes for mechanical design, which we will need to do later, will be not significant. They depend on final decisions on parts used for PCBs. We also are doing the procedures which are not connected to the electrical design issues we had, and are looking for parts that are ready modules, and are already certified, to decrease the quantity of RF certification we will need to do according to the countries regulations to deliver to.
We are also working on the user friendly appearance of the data collected in application, so You can see the statistics and make an actions later. Some moments can be viewed here:
This week we received our Z-Wave Kits according to the agreements we signed, so our software and hardware teams will do preparations for the product certification procedure to be ready by the moment our Moon by 1-Ring is ready for production.
This is great period to continue getting from You suggestions on Your personal use cases, so we can implement what is possible to get more advantages from this period.

Dear Backers, here we are with our next update.
The journey we started is much deeper and wider than our estimations so here we want to share our achievements and difficulties.
On a video piece below You can see actual testings of the development of the App at the moment of viewing events recorded. We are finalizing the scenarios for the triggers of events to be recorded such as scheduling, movement/sound detection, integrated or paired sensors data analyzing.
We’ve been working on load-balancer servers functionality as well as with live-stream server.
During the next week we will have real live stream servers which will work with UI.
We’ve added an ability to crop the video, with subsequent sharing of it to the social media networks such as Facebook. Also, we will give the ability to crop and save the part of the video directly to your device.
There will be highlighted events with the date / type and some other data gathered from sensors.
Our product was designed prototyped and scheduled based on “NanoPi NEO Air” board which had all the necessary parameters according to the specifications.
After several pre-production testings we found that the streaming could not continuously handle 30 FPS while Full HD resolution. We sent several requests to clarify, starting from 2017 Q4, but no reply/assistance was received from the manufacturer.
To provide the features we planned in the best possible quality we were planning, we decided to switch to the plan “B” which we had also started in 2017 according to which we are developing our own board ,which will give us freedom to put all the components according to our current and future needs based on our mission to increase the quantity of services and products to cooperate with and this became possible thanks to Your support and amount we raised.
As this will cause a delay in production, we decided to use this time to add some changes to the PCB to increase potential integration updates that will be free of charge for our campaign backers, as some of services need to have coprocessor installed on our PCB to grant access for integrations.
Now after we entered preproduction stage, during discussions with manufacturers we`ve been informed that according to the policies of the countries we got orders from, we need to make separate production and logistics, like in case of Z-Wave and Zigbee modules which are different depending on countries of usage.
As these are our first steps to set up a production for such a product, we are doing our best to decrease the risks of challenges we face on this road. We have our full dedication to the project, and during next 2 weeks will grant access to beta version of App to collect Your feedbacks.

Hey dear backers,
We wish you the best of luck in 2018 and will do our best to make your MOON’s truly exceptional. With the continuous updates we will keep you informed about the production processes: unveiling both successes and challenges we face and solve during this process.
For now we discuss with manufacturers possible shape and sizes for wireless charging coil design according to components we have inside of camera unit and making customization for power consumption.
We have agreements on PCB production and we are negotiating on assembly and packaging.
We are working with several manufacturers to finalize MOON’s mechanical design according to the radio frequencies parts designed on PCB and their antennas for better distance covering.
As for software we are developing Apps installation and set-up plus permissions granting according to the user type.
We have approved mock-ups of our Web interface and Mobile Apps, some of them are attached here, so our next update will include final designs of some pages based on it.
During the development process we added some additional functions, and we hope it will be nice surprise for you :)
As a startup there are a couple of challenges as well that we are working to solve. It takes longer to get all needed datasheets from components manufacturers to set up the processes like the compression of the stream for less latency and more image quality. The other challenge at the moment is to get customized magnetic levitation components according to our needs and standards.

Although we did not hit 350K goal during our funding campaign, however, we decided to unlock our Stretch Goal and provide 30 minutes free cloud recording feature to all our backers!
